You feel a fool, you should have seen, some trace of the deceit,
but it was hidden where no one else could see.
It hid there silent and waiting, until it was set free.
Don’t take on the guilt and shame of someone else’s deceit, your heart was true and just. Just take a breath and turn around for starting a new life is now a must.
There is hope, there is new life, even after this.
You may not think so now, but you can still know bliss.
This door in life has closed, so seal it with a lock.
Renew your soul, refresh your heart, and of your joys take stock.
You can find a better life, one filled with hope and trust,
so let your soul be blessed with joy, a new goal now is a must
I trusted someone and gave my all to help and be a friend. He gave me a place to live when my house was destroyed by water. In return, I helped him get his business going. I thought he was a sincere and honest person but he wasn’t able to keep up the front of kindness for long. After about 10 months, his true disposition began to show through once in a while. I thought for a long time that these episodes were just occasional periods of depression or bad feelings, but I was wrong.
After a year his temperament was nearly always standoffish and rude, and it just got worse as time went on. We were in business together, with me using my talents, time and money to make it grow. And it did. Mainly due to my efforts.
Without any warning or reason, he suddenly decided that I was trying to take his business away from him, and he said he didn’t trust me any longer. I had done nothing to warrant this attitude, which made it hard to understand. It got so I hated to go home whenever I was out.
Finally, I trusted God to help me, and by guiding me step by step, literally, He led me to an apartment and people I worked for helped me with the deposit so I could get it. I moved out with just some clothes and a borrowed cot.
I loaded my car with everything I could get into it and made about a dozen trips. God provided a way, and since I trusted Him, things have worked out well. I occasionally run into some of his relatives and they tell me they are glad I moved out and they just couldn’t see how I had been with him as long as I had been.
They said his nasty and angry disposition was his normal way of living and he had just been putting on a front with me. They were all surprised that I worked with him as long as I did.
So I am relieved and thankful that I was finally able to see him as his true self. I am fully free of any guilt in the breakup. I know I did my best and was true to myself and I treated him very well.
In exchange he used me and my finances to further his goals and took everything he could take. But I refuse to let his treatment alter my trust in people. Most people are honest and treat you fairly, if you treat them with respect. I was just in a position of need, and he offered respite, I didn’t know though that it would come at such a dire cost. It was a lesson well learned.
Although the trust I placed in him was thrown in my face, I will not let it alter my basic trust in others, and God has shown me trust, mercy and understanding, and I will live my life in faith, trust and hope, helping others whenever the opportunity presents itself.
And to live lives of trust and faith in others.
Each of us has a responsibility to love one another.
Trust is the key, for a life that is free, you can face each new day,
Knowing God has a way.
You can rust Him, for trust is the key and He loves you and me.
