I must admit, is one of the best.
So many pilgrims, he’s led astray
Ever so slightly, off the narrow way.
His nostalgic charm and sweet little face
Cause believers to slow their pace
And question whether his innocent game
Could be as bad as so few claim.
It was my idea, from the start
To nab him from my other work of art
And deck him in a brilliant disguise.
So they could not his evil surmise.
He becomes their confidant, their ally, their friend,
They never suspect his betrayal in the end.
His closest friends are Lies and Greed. So close, they’re almost one.
So widespread his deception, the wisest men have been undone.
It was obvious at his glorious birth
That snaring heathens was then his worth.
“To our King Nimrod!” the people did shout
While all God’s children shut them out.
Through ages, my underling grew was an old friend
With my followers, fully knowing their end.
But, still, God’s children all held back
Fully aware of my unsubtle attack.
But still, I was patient. Their time would come.
Soon, I would their discernment numb
And sneak him in in a different form
Around the edges, ‘till he became the norm.
I sent his followers on their knees,
Pleading to the holy church: “Please…
“I have a friend, can he come, too?
“He will change, I promise you!”
They’d opened their mouths to say no, but instead
They glanced behind my follower’s head
And saw a cute little thing, not a beast.
“Well,” they consented, “We’ll try him at least.”
“But first we need to change that name.
“Everyone will think he is one and the same
“With that horrid little thing that leads people astray
“Maybe he’ll have a chance of being able stay.”
So, the name of my dear little friend would then change
And no one at all ever thinks he is strange.
“If the church has okayed him, he must be alright!”
The questioners think, as they lie awake at night.
“It’s the birth of our savior! Not just lies and greed.
“It’s for God, it’s for fun! It’s now part of our creed!
“You can’t just forget it, your family would cry!”
And all of the preachers against him just sigh.
So deep are his claws in the back of the church,
He’ll never let go or the terrible lurch
Would certainly kill not just a few,
But many beliefs, for he was all they knew.
“If he isn’t true, then what else is a trick?
“All these stupid radicals just make me sick.”
And then in a huff, they would leave their good faith
They’d leave all their family to follow my wraith.
And I’m certain my agent won’t leave for a while.
Oh, Christmas. Dear Christmas, you do make me smile.
Author’s Note
While I certainly don’t mean to personally insult anyone, I am very concerned how this deeply rooted pagan holiday has been engrained into Christian culture. To judge a tree by its fruit, really, the only ones that Christmas is bearing are greed and lies.
I hope this raises enough questions in your mind that you will research the true origins of this holiday.

God bless~
Because of the fact I celebrate his death every time I participate in the Lord's Supper, I have to at the same time admit he was born. I don't need to try to remember it one time a year.
Good piece for thought.
