in my search for the King.
Rewards He gives unending
for the offerings I bring.
With my best I can offer
I bow before the Lord.
He stands as a guard never-ending
with a mighty two edged sword.
Washed in the blood of the Savior
cleansed of the sins that I bear.
Fear no longer stalks me,
I know that Jesus is there.
We have this understanding
when you ask Him into your heart.
The door will open, He will step in,
forever, your life, He's a part.
Now I can stand here bravely
with wickedness on the run.
For God so loved the world
He gave His only Son.
Jesus is Omnipresent
in what we do and see.
When you want conversation
There's time, and it's always free.
Now like some bookends
I gather Jesus within.
To keep His word within my mind
letting our story begin.
There will be times you are tempted
grow weak starting to sin.
Look for God who is with you
and start by looking within.

Thanks for sharing.
Although you mention "bookends" it's not really the theme of your poem.
I do like how your brought out the Gospel, plus the comfort that God gives to us in our needs.
We all can be thankful that when we were baptized for the forgiveness of our sin that we were given God's gift of the Holy Spirit and he is there to help us and lead us in God's way.
Nice work.
