Topic: Anniversary (04/11/05)
What would this day be like? I often wondered knowing it would appear sooner or later. My husband died less than a year ago. Today is our wedding anniversary. How do you plan such a day? Do you celebrate or mourn? Perhaps both.

The apartment seems more lonely than usual. The wood floors creak louder than usual. If it wasn’t for Fluffy and his passionate purr, I may go mad.

Yet, I know that I am not alone. My friend, Jesus, is here with me. Together, we look at wedding pictures. I cry on His shoulder. I feel His tears wash over me. We laugh at the funny pictures like the cake-smeared faces smiling brightly. We reminisce about the good times. There were so many of them! Yet, there haven’t been enough for me.

He’s not afraid of my emotions. He knows I wish things could be different. His heart is aching for me. So He holds me close and tells me of His love for me. I tell Him I love Him, too.

Today is a special day.

What a precious piece! Loved how you brought JESUS and the comfort HE gives. How many hurting and lonely hearts there are that need to read this! It brings such comfort!
