David & Jonathan are a great example of friendship. I enjoyed your retelling through David as he waited.

I love stories where we get into the head of the person that it's happening to!
I love the story of David and Jonathan anyway - thank you for reinforcing what their friendship means to me.
I've always loved this story. You've done a great job of helping us see what David must have been feeling!

What a gift you have for taking the bones of an event that occurred so long ago and putting the reader right there, even inside the heart and thoughts of David. Good job.

I like the adventure, it has great tension, characters are well portrayed, relationships established, situation laid out..... it needs an ending, though -- it stops abruptly commenting on the friendship that we've been shown -- but if you didn't know the story, what happens?

I agree with Delores that some of the items sound more like what happiness is, but I agree with the other items on what friendship is and also with your final paragraph.

I'm sorry but my review above was for the previous article. I don't know how it got there. Anyway, I too like the way you handled the story of the friendship between David and Jonathan.

I've always liked the relationship between D & J. So, I'm glad to see it detailed so nicely in the Friendship contest! Excellent work!
