Topic: Garden (09/07/06)
Jesus spent his most agonizing last hours in the Garden of Getsemane; for his unrelenting, unselfish determination, I say thank you, brother, savior, best friend. This time of turmoil can best be compared to our own struggles with sins of the flesh, which drain our every emotion, and physically can cause us to bleed tears for relief. I cannot compare my personal sin, and struggles with the painful experience Jesus went through, but I can accept his struggle, by faith, knowing that without him I am destined for Hell.
As we toil in our own personal gardens, whether they be by the sweat of our brows, or the tears on our faces. Let us remind ourselves, our friends, our bloodlines, that we are only visitng this World, and we have a much better place reserved for us. Putting all focus on Him, for his glory, and not on us.

A nice devotional! :) May I make a suggestion? Each time you write in reference to the Lord, you may want to use capitals. For instance, "you, brother, savior, best friend" are all directly describing Jesus. The word "hell" was capitalized but not the personal pronouns in reference to Christ. Make it a point to always give Jesus preeminence by honoring Him and His name with capitals. On the same token, diminish the enemy and his dwelling place by not honoring him with capitalization -- at least that's my point of view!

It would be nice to see you expand on this -- it's a very nice devotional! :)

I pondered over "Gates for me"; did it mean Garden of Gethsemane? Nice thoughts.

I agree that your comments could be expanded a little more. Watch out for fragments - incomplete sentences - like the first sentence of the second paragraph. Keep working on your writing. Be encouraged. God bless you!
