Topic: Rest in His Finished Work 8/13-8/20/26 (08/13/26)
According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, one way to define the word, “finished” is “bought to a completed state”.
John 19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
One of the definitions of GOD is that He is “omniscient”, which Merriam-Webster defines as “Possessed of universal or complete knowledge” Since Jesus could see the past, now, and the future at the same time. When He said it is finished, He was saying the price of paying for our sins had been paid and the ability to reconcile with GOD was now open.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of GOD,
9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Our salvation is a gift from GOD. We can’t earn salvation, even if we tried. Salvation is a gift from GOD.
1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
GOD say’s we are all sinners. Large sin or small sin, sin is sin.
Mark 10:18 So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.

When GOD says no man is good, am I going to call GOD a lair?
Sin took me where I did not want to go. Sin kept me longer than I wanted to stay. Sin cost me more than I wanted to pay.
When I first became a Christian, I accused GOD of turning my life upside down and I noticed GOD was changing my life and the way I was thinking. GOD told me I had turned my life upside down, that He was turning it right side up.
When I look in the mirror, I see every pimple like it is a mountain. GOD sees me as the finished product He plans on turning me into.
1 John 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of GOD; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
GOD is changing us until we become like Jesus.
John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

As I read Gods Word daily I am being sanctified by Gods Word daily. GOD is sanctifying by Gods Word.
John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

GOD says we can one with GOD. One of Gods greatest promises.

1 John 4:12 No one has seen GOD at any time. If we love one another, GOD abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.
13 By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.
14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.

If you love one another, even your enemies, GOD promises to come and live in you.
GOD promises to guide you to a life full of peace and joy if you will give your life to Him.
Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

GOD tells inspired Peter to tell is that if we repent and are baptized in the name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, we shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

GOD offers you the Peace of the Lord, and the Joy of the Lord. Who doesn’t want to experience peace and joy in their life. If you want peace and joy in you life, GOD says He will give both to you. It’s you for the asking. Will you ask Him to day to enter into you life and to guide you for the rest of your life.
GOD loves you, will you love Him?
