And in Hebrews 4:12 says, "For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
God gave the church His Word as the Arrow for our deliverance.
The Bible tells us in Acts 2:38, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." That’s the Word of our salvation to deliver us from darkness into His marvelous light and to give us power to become sons and daughters of God and witness that Jesus is the Son of God who died for the sins of this world.
When Jesus was on earth, His Word brought deliverance to those who heard it and accepted it. In Luke 5:4-6, "When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, "Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch." But Simon answered and said to Him, "Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless, I will let down the net at Your word." And when they did this, they caught a lot of fish, and their net was breaking.
A few years ago, I read a testimony that profoundly impacted my spiritual life, and I would like to share it with you. Brother Rogers wrote that he faced death and had no time to pray, but the Word of God reversed the situation from death to life.
He wrote that one evening he was traveling home, memorizing 2 Chronicles 16:9: "The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole world, to shew himself strong on the behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward him." Suddenly, he came upon a stretch of the slippery road, as it was winter and some of the snow had thawed during the day, then refroze when the sun went down, leaving large patches of ice. It was impossible for him to brake nor accelerate, lest he would have lost control of the car. Touching neither brake nor accelerator, he let the car roll into a curve, hoping nothing was approaching from the opposite direction. As he rounded the corner, he saw a large horse standing in the middle of the road. There was no way for him to avoid hitting it.
His hands froze on the steering wheel and all he could have said was, "Dear Jesus." Instantly some force wrestled the steering wheel out of his hands and directed the car toward the horse's front legs. Just a moment before the impact, the animal reared up on his hind legs, and Brother Rogers slumped in his seat to avoid the hoofs hitting him in the face through the windshield.
He managed to bring the car to a stop and gave himself a few minutes to get his pounding heart down and at the same time he offered a prayer of thanksgiving. Then he drove to the first house and explained what had happened. The man told him that the animal belonged to a neighbor and was kept indoors during the winter. He contacted the owner, and the owner said that the animal was in the stall half hour ago when he completed his evening shores. However, he told Brother Rogers that he would check and call him back. A few minutes later, he called back and said that, in some mysterious way, the horse had gotten out. The stall door was wide open, the bar door was ajar, and the animal was gone. None of them could have figured out how it had taken place. Nobody could have reached the barn without someone seeing them since the driveway faced a large picture window in the kitchen where the family was at the time. "Its strange, strange," they said.
The eyes of the Lord were upon Brother Rogers, and His Spirit brought deliverance.
