Brother Bill was an old Baptist Minister who preached for many years worldwide.

When Brother Bill was a boy walking through one of the carnival grounds with his cousins in their hometown, an old fortune teller was sitting under one of the tents. She was a young lady in her twenties, nicely dressed.
As they walked by, she said, “Say, you, come a minute!”
The boys turned and looked at her. She said, “You, with the striped sweater,” pointing to Brother Bill.

The boys stopped and giggled, looking at Bill for his reaction.
Bill thought she wanted him to get her a Coke or something like that. So, he walked up to her and said, “What can I do for you ma’am?”
The boys stood watching, listening to what she would tell him.
She said, “Say, did you know that a Light is following you? You were born under a certain sign.”
“What do you mean?” Bill asked.
“You were born under a certain sign,” she repeated. “And a Light is following you. You were born for a Divine call.”
“Get away from here woman.” Bill said to her, and he walked away.

The boys laughed and followed him. But Bill was scared because his mother warned him against fortune tellers.

Shortly after that scene, Bill was standing at the bus stop one day waiting for the bus. He looked around and saw a heavyset woman sitting on the bus stop bench. She was well dressed. Her eyes caught him, and she said, “How do you do? I’ll like to talk with you a minute.”
“Well,” he thought, “She’s just a woman.” So, he said, “Yes ma’am.”
She said, “Do you know that you were born under a sign?”
And he thought, “Another one of them funny women.”
He didn’t say anything; he just turned his head in another direction, ignoring her.
“Hello, can I speak to you for a minute? Don’t act like that,” she said.
He faced her, ready to run but unable to move.

“Maybe I better explain myself. I’m an astrologist,” she said.
“I thought you were something like that,” he confessed.
“I am on my way to Chicago to see my boy who is a Baptist Minister. Anybody ever tell you that you were born under a sign?”
“No ma’am,” Bill lied. He wanted to hear what she would say.
“No minister never told you that?” she asked him in disbelieve.
“I don’t have anything to do with ministers.”
She said, “Uh—huh. Well… if I tell you exactly when you were born, will you believe me?”
“No ma’am.”
She told him anyhow, and it was correct.

A young gentleman was standing nearby, engrossed in their conversation. Bill looked at him and said to her, “Tell him when he was born.”
“I can’t,” she said.
Then she began to talk about astronomy.
“You remember when the morning star came and led the wise men to Jesus Christ?”
“Ma’am, I don’t know anything about religion.”
“Well,” she said. “Have you heard about the wise men coming to Jesus?”
“Yes.”
“What is a wise man?” she asked him.
“Oh, they were just wise men that is all I know.”
“That is the same thing I am,” she said.
Bill chuckled at the look on her face when she said that.

“I am an astrologist, a ‘star gazer.’ You know before God does anything on the earth, He always declared it in heaven.”
“I don’t know, ma’am.”
She said, “The three stars that the three wise men followed were Mars, Jupiter, and Venus. Every person on earth has something to do with the stars.
The three wise men were from Ham, Sham, and Japheth lineage. When they met in Bethlehem, they followed one star, “The Bright and Morning Star,” that led them to Jesus Christ. And your birth has something to do with the stars up there.”
“Well... that I don’t know.”
She continued speaking to him about the stars and their relationship with the birth of Jesus Christ.

Bill became agitated and interrupted her, “Lady, the first place, I don’t believe anything about it. I’m not religious, and I don’t want to hear no more about it!” He walked away.

A few years after, Bill became a Christian. And subsequently, he accepted his Devine call as a Minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
