Can you remember the days when you just lived life the way you wanted to; without regard to obeying God’s testimonies for holy living or were you a picture perfect Christian from birth until now. If you were like the rest of us you have had your battle with sin and sinful lifestyle practices. I, myself, had my first child out of the covenant of marriage. Although, I married my first child’s father, I was not obeying God’s testimonies for holy living when it came to presenting my body as a living sacrifice to be holy, and acceptable unto God in terms of practicing abstinence (Romans 12:1). Maybe your battle with sin involves gluttony or eating too much of the wrong foods, or eating too much period. Or drinking too much alcohol might be the battle with sin that you have had to overcome or coveting the possessions or positions of others in the body of Christ; might be your battle with sin. Whatever, it is; we have all had to overcome some sinful lifestyle practice or practices, because none of us is perfect or sin free. Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me (Psalm 51:5). As born again Christians, our sins have been buried with Jesus when he was crucified on the cross. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we all should walk in the newness of life (Romans 6: 4).
Jesus was despised and rejected. He carried the sorrows of this world in his bosom. He bore our sins and griefs (Isaiah 53: 3-4). He took our place on the cross. He was the final sacrificial lamb (John 1:29) Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sins of the world. There would be no more need for sacrificing of animals such as sheep. He was and is the Passover lamb. His blood has redeemed us from a carnal death unto the resurrection of a perfect life eternally with him and with God, the Father. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We are healed and cleansed of all unrighteousness through the shedding of the perfect blood of Christ. Our old man is buried when we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, confess our sins, repent of our sins, and be baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Through Christ we are re-birthed into the world as saints; as sinners saved by the welcoming grace of God. Christ was buried. He died a physical death so that we could have a spiritual life and a fellowship with God through him. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth (Isaiah 53:9). We are justified through our faith in Christ. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant, justify many: for he shall bear their iniquities (Isaiah 53:11). Christ’s burial and death was the greatest burial and death that has ever taken place on this earth. His death and burial and resurrection opened the door for eternal forgiveness and life everlasting. Therefore I will divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and was numbered with the transgressors: and he bare the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors (Isaiah 53:12). For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous (Romans 5:19). Knowing this that our old man is crucified with him that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should serve not sin, For he that is dead is freed from sin (Romans 6:6-7).(We must die a spiritual death to sin and live a life of obedience to the Father). Christ was and is a sinner’s Hope for life everlasting with the Father in the new kingdom.
