Colour communicates with us all the time, no exception. Sounds strange, as if colour can speak, and indeed, it does. Many an in depth study has been done by psychologists, graphic designers Etc., an ongoing project, about the effect of colour on the psyche of man and how it influences us.
Colours of the rainbow are visible when you split white light with a prism. Our eyes are not fully equipped to see the colour spectrum of the rainbow. Thus, depending on where you are, it seems the colours change against the backdrop of the blue sky.
According to some scientist’s the colour of the sky only appears to be what we call blue; a prime colour and the favourite colour of most people in some form or shade, and the colour of the year 2020.
To my friend, blue is ‘the flag of Jesus.’
Flowing streams in hues of blues, aqua and teal reminding you of a picnic with your loved ones, not to mention the abundance of lush greens and dependable browns of nature around you…
When you look out the window, you see your garden in shades of green and a wealth of periwinkle with splashes of virtuous white and bright yellow roses. The vista evokes a longing for your grandmother, who was the self-taught horticulturist in the family.
Yellow, also a primary colour, therefore all other colours will have some measure of yellow pigment in it. How much and in what respect is up to you and the beholder. It is a difficult colour to wear in terms of clothing as it influences the undertone of your skin, yet represents victory, playfulness, friendship and sadly, deceit.
Some say the colour red is anger, love, and action, being on the go, and, in some cultures, it symbolizes wealth. Yet, to others it is a restful hour filled with tranquillity as you view the sunset in different hues of red, yellow, orange and gold.
Splatters of gold, silver streaks, specks of grey and white might remind you of a night out with someone special, the night of all nights and the colour of clouds. To me it represents continuance, God, permanence and tranquillity.
Then, there is the colour of children and the colour of your in-laws…
We all are into living a life filled with colour. Few of us truly realize the influence it has on our daily activities and in our thinking process, especially when taking decisions.
