We all, from time to time during our day, have to answer the call of nature. He made his way to the area where the portable water closets were setup. He didn't need any signage to find this location; on arrival of his destination, he was confident, he knew which one most likely would be free. But much to his chagrin, he recognized that this would not be the kind of day that he had in mind. You see, sometimes, the Lord Jesus Christ has other plans or ways to use us in any given moment.
Billy loved all the familiar welcoming redolent aromas that came from the area that the Circus performers, as well as the roustabouts, had their meals. But Billy and his pals truly got excited when entering the Main Entrance of the Circus. They each would take in a massive nasal cavity full of hay and the accustomed sawdust particles into their lungs. The thought of their last Circus season brought back the fondest recollections of just how much amusement they were about to experience once again.
Billy's mind at this time was thinking about his favorite act in the Circus, which was watching the performers, especially his precious Clowns, and now getting back to how this young man would step up as a true young boy of God. Okay, before I lose my thought pattern, is anyone else no, would you believe that I'm smelling hot peanuts and popcorn, along with the very distinctive caramel smell of the sugar burning on the cotton-candy machines at this present moment. It's truly amazing the minds that Our Father God has given us.
As Billy stepped out of the last water closet in the row, he faintly heard someone, which he assumed was in some distress. He spoke out, is everything okay, do you need some help or something? It was one of the Circus performers, his favorite Joey the Clown.
Billy wasn't afraid at all; he knew that the Holy Spirit or God was with him. The eleven-year-old boy had the good sense to stop talking after asking why this clown was crying in the water closet. It turns out that Joey the Clown recently lost his friend and partner in his act. Maxwell died of old age. You see, chimpanzees can live up to 50-60 years in captivity.
Joey, the Clown, had been in the business of clowning
for nearly 48 years with his sidekick Maxwell the chimpanzee.
You see, he was just a young boy when he first caught the clown-bug. Every season when the Springtime was entirely in bloom, young Joey and his companions would look for ways to earn money so that they could fill up their war-chest(s) (piggy banks). He just loved everything at the Circus. He would even accept a job cleaning up after the animals, well the ones that don't bite anyway. Joey, his little brother Johnnie and mom, lived alone; you see dad took off three years ago to find work.
Every so often, momma receives a note from dad with some money enclosed. Other than the money received from dad, mom washed and ironed the laundry for other folks in the community. Joey indeed was the clown of the group, and almost everywhere they went, he also had a good joke or a crazy ad-lib. But this time he didn't feel whimsical, he could hardly muster up any humor at this moment. His friend and partner in his Circus act Maxwell was gone. Many felt like a massive chunk of their troop was gone forever. You see, this chimp was genuinely an entertainer in every sense of the word he loved the Circus life and children the most.
Billy was on time, and he proved by his actions that our Lord and God could use anyone. You must recognize that God uses ordinary people. And this would not be the first time that Our Lord and God used a preteen or teenagers like the three Hebrew boys. Billy listened to this broken-hearted adult man and shared the Word of God with him. He told him that God loves him, and if he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior, that Jesus would become his new best friend. After a few moments, Billy, the clown, pulled himself together, after all, the show must go on.
