I 0sit here in a quandary
The pressure is so great.
I am so uncomfortable
Because I have to wait.

One of the greatest puzzles
Is if I failed again.
I am working so very hard
To try to find a friend.

I have finally given up
I put me in this place.
I have fallen deep in sin
I sit here in disgrace.

I’ve spent all my money.
Given up my land.
Now I am sitting on the curb
Asking for a hand.

When I was at my greatest
I could buy ‘most anything.
Now my stomach’s growling
Reality has its sting.

I’m looking at this dilemma
That I have caused for me.
The pieces of the puzzle
Whose place I cannot see.

The answers I am seeking
Elude me as I speak.
The choices that I’m making
Fail because I’m weak.

Who’ll be there to help me?
My sins are feeling great;
Wanting to improve my life
Impatiently I wait.

Then I hear a soft voice
Speak quietly in my ear.
“I can only help you
If you call me near.”

“I’ve given you free will
To try with all your might.
You used the gifts I’ve given you
So you were doing it right.”

“You say you want a friend
To help you find the way.
I am always here with you
I hear you when you pray.”

Now I’ve found the answer
He was always here.
He helps me calm the state I’m in.
Once more I start to care.

He has given me the courage,
The strength to carry on.
To clear this predicament
Change to right what’s wrong.

I find I am the whole cause
I have made my choice.
But He is there to guild me
He is that quiet voice.
