How will I get life sorted out?
But I've heard His voice as His Words were spoken,
“You may be bruised, but you’re not broken.”
My purple bruises, scars and stains
Mark life’s struggles, loss and pain.
He was first to pay the price upon the cross,
“You may be bruised, but you’re not lost.”
Through sickness, anger, sadness and tears
I've turned to Him, He has heard my prayers.
Through my suffering, His mercy has shone,
“You may be bruised, but you’re not alone.”
And in my sins, my lies, my pride,
My Father has never left my side.
His promises made, His sacrifice given,
“You may be bruised, but you’re forgiven.”
Every time I feel knocked down,
I remember that by His grace, I have been found.
His love is the balm in which my wounds are dressed.
I may be bruised, but I am blessed.
