The cold air whipped around us while we waited for the shuttle bus driver to load our luggage on that November day. . “The weather man must really be in a rush for cold weather. My calender shows winter is still about six weeks away.” One of the passenagers joked as we climbed on the shuttle.
Settling down in the warm bus, I made myself comfortable for the ride to the airport. I looked out the window as we drove down the road.. Patches of the snow of a few days earlier giving the appearance of winter. I agreed with the passenages statement. It looked more like winter than the middle of fall.
The warm comfortable seat and the movement of the bus soon lulled me to sleep. I didn't wake up until the shuttle came to a stop at the first entrance of the airport. I was able to come fully awake and get my things together before the driver pulled up to my stop.
Thanking the driver I hurried into the warm building. Looking forward to being in a warmer climate gave me stamina. I walked up to the ticket counter with ticket and ID in my hand ready to display. Next in line I was ask to take off my shoes. While they were going through the table x-ray with my carry on bag right behind them. I held my medicine container in my hand waiting for them to be checked. The walk through metal detector blared as I walked through. Without hesitation I reached down and pulled my pants legs up to reveal the scares of knee replacement. After looking me over they let me walk through. My shoes, carry on bag and medicine passed inspection. Slipping my shoes back on I bide all of them a good day as I headed for the boarding station.
After getting settled into my seat, I took my KJV Bible out of the carry on bag. Opening it to Eccleseastes 3: 1and 2 and began to read. . To every thing thee is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.
I read the verses over again. “To every thing” it said, not just a few things or some things but every thing. This was the season for the airport to add more security after our land was attack by terrorist. It was put there for the passenagers safety.
I thought of my life as a season. When I was a child in the Spring of my life, Evey thing was new and fresh and growing. The summer of my life I was rasing my children, weeding out , pruning and nurturing them as they grew. Fall, I saw my children grown and taking on their own responsibilities. My harvest finished. I 'm now living the winter of my life. The time for rest while and prepared for the renewing of my spirit.
The flight to Memphis over, I boared the smaller commuter plane for the short flight further south to my destination. A warmer climate where the winds of winter has not yet reached.
Stepping onto the tarmac after the plane landed I looked up to see my family. The great grand daughter called out as she ran toward me. She grew so much since the last time I saw her. I smiled as I thought about her being in the Spring of her life. Behind her my granddaughter walked and waited her turn for a hug. She had a long summer to look forward to raising her daughter and nurturing her. My daughter walked at a slower pace. The peace of fall shown in her counterance.
I don't know how long my winter of life would last. I don't know what plans GOD has for me. I look forward to enjoying every moment.

This was very readable and entertaining.
