As I have clothed myself?
Shall the Lord clothe me?
Shall I let others choose the garments that I wear?
Perhaps I shall reveal my nakedness unto the Lord?
And wear no garments at all.
And wait in faith
For Him to clothe me.
I shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven as a child
Or I shall not enter at all. (Matt 18:3, KJV)
Aren’t children born naked?
Only to be clothed by the descendants of Adam and Eve?
Shall I (as Peter) wrap my cloak tightly about myself
To hide my nakedness from the Lord? (John 21:7, KJV)
Can He not see what I am
Regardless of what I pretend to be?
Whose clothes do I wear? Peters?
Shall I deny the Lord repeatedly? (Luke 22:34, KJV)
Shall I take my eyes from the Lord?
And sink into the sea? (Matt 14:30, KJV)
I want to be as John, not Peter.
John was the disciple whom Jesus loved.
He believed beyond reason, faith born of love.
Commanded to remain strong for Christ’s return. (John 21:20-22, KJV)
I shall cling to Him, my Lord...my Christ
As they try to take him from me.
I will tear their garments from my body
Rejoicing, I run away naked. (Mark 14:51, KJV)
As a child.
