One Day No More

There will be a time among the people when there will be no poor
Those who have no set residence or means of support for sure
Keep a heart of charity open your hand wide to a brother in need
The poor and needy shall never cease be blessed and not grieved

The Lord makes poor and rich bringing some down taking others up
Bringing the poor out of the dust, from the dunghill the beggar set up
This poor man cries the Lord hears the Lord his deliverer his help
I am sorrowful needy, and poor make haste tarry not to this whelp

But there are those that make themself rich, but they have nothing
Or those that make themselves poor and have great riches it’s a thing
O Lord to be in the middle you being maker of all rich and poor
Never taking the Lord’s name in vain nor denying my Lord for sure

The Lord God says he will not forsake his with what they need
If tongues fail for thirst, he will hear and give water and feed
Now, there are different kinds of poor some that are not money
A rich man sad and down his spirit need not locust or honey

Jesus said Blessed are the poor in spirit the kingdom of heaven is theirs
Jesus also told a rich man how to have heavenly treasures as other heirs
Be aware, you can give all to feed the poor even your body to be burned
It’s nothing without charity be poor yet possessing what’s not earned

Christ Lord Jesus was rich but became poor to make others rich
Remember the poor, have no respect of persons help any in the ditch
God has chosen the poor of this world know they are rich in faith
Heirs of the kingdom which he promised but first we must be wraith

Don’t say I am rich and have need of nothing having lots of money
Not knowing you are naked and blind needing to drop on the knee
Miserable wretched and poor then there’s Jesus the One with more
Christ Lord Jesus the way the truth the life never again to be poor

You have gathered some amazing scripture together and brought out their main points well.
It’s important to consider how your lines and verses will sound when your reader reads them for the first time.
For example…
This poor man cries the Lord hears the Lord his deliverer his help
I am sorrowful needy, and poor make haste tarry not to this whelp

If you enjoy poetry it is worth exploring lots of different types and consider rhythms and rhyming patterns. This advice really helped me to develop my own style.
I look forward to seeing more of your writing.
