Until I see you again

"Why did you do this? Allowing him to die? We were going to be married, Lord. Why?" I wailed, balling my fists toward heaven, "He was only twenty years old."

"To mourn is to mourn a great loss. To not understand is to lack the wisdom of God."

"Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted" Matthew 5:4

When we are in a period of grieving Matthew 5:4 seems to escape our memory banks. We don't feel "comforted" yet over time we will come to the realization we were.

2 Corinthians 1:4 Who comforts us in all our tribulation that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted by God.

When the grief is so unbearable, and we feel we can't go on that is when our God intervenes. And we realize to mourn is to live because mourning is a part of life.

Jesus himself mourned at the grave of his dear friend Lazarus. Yes, he could have answered Mary and Martha's request to come to their aid, but he chose another path. One that would forever change Mary, Martha and Lazarus's life.

Everyone grieves in their time and in their own way. Losing a loved one, without question, is very personal and therefore is to be respected.

The loss of my high school sweetheart still resonates with me to this day. I suppose it always will until I see him again.
