In the beginning the Word became flesh, made his dwelling among his people.
The world was made through him, no one recognized the Son of the Living God.
John the Baptist claimed. “Behold the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world”.
The Son of the Living God was anointed and appointed to be the Great Shepherd.
God’s covenant was that His Shepherd would lay down His life for those He loved.
To Him the gatekeeper opens, the sheep hear his voice and He calls them by name.
The sheep don't follow a stranger; they know the voice of their beloved Shepherd.
The Shepherd came as the legal heir, chosen seed to fulfill Biblical prophecy.
He contrasts Himself from deceitful messiahs who claim to seek, steal the sheep.
He was obedient, sacrificial lamb destined to purify our sinful and lost souls.
Jesus, the Good shepherd is the great benevolent Ruler and Owner of the sheep.
