of the Lord is coming..
He will not tarry long
soon we'll hear the angel's song.
Waiting is so wearing,
waiting for bus or train,
or just a tardy friend,
who is late again.
Waiting for a baby
past the expected date,
is an anxious time,
even if it arrives late.
Jesus told his disciples
wait for the promised Spirit,
he will tell you all things
if you wait to hear it.
The Jews waited long
for their promised Messiah.
When he came they did not
recognise their Saviour.
Waiting in a line in a
queue that seems so long,
will be rewarded
when the end has come.
Waiting for Christmas
to a child is long,
when we are older
it passes like a song.
Little orphan children
waiting to be fed,
in an anxious line,
rescued from the dead.
Waiting for my computer
to come up with my email,
is a time of frustration,
seems as slow as a snail.
