“I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free. His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me!”
What joy and comfort I experience when I hear those words again playing through my brain! Watching the little sparrows at my bird feeder, I sing with them. Hearing their songs of praise, I join in with my own.
Jesus told us not to worry.
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?" Matthew 6:25-26 (NKJV)
No need to worry, He will take care of me! And beyond that:
Bless the LORD, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Psalm 103:3-5 NKJV
I am forgiven, healed, redeemed, loved, satisfied and youthful! That is what I sing all day long. Won’t you join me?
