At a hotel, motel or Holiday Inn
With relatives or a friend
At a shelter or stadium
Victims of Hurricane Katrina have been

Many displaced
Economic difficulties faced
By the already poor and the black race

Lives turned upside down
Worldly possessions gone; homes destroyed
Many missing and bodies found

God made this happen
It was part of His divine plan
To wash the slate clean
And build up a better New Orleans clan

Work on more consistency of rhyme and meter.
