As dawn arrived I watched the sun rise up above the land,
I heard the birds all waking up just like He had planned.
Stunned that He had felt my joy, amazed that He did care;
I thanked God for the day ahead and prayed a simple prayer.
I walked outside and saw the dew hanging from the trees,
In crystal drops like liquid silver just swaying in the breeze.
The flowers had their little heads turned up towards the day,
I was astonished as I watched some animals at play.
I took a walk along the beach and watched the ocean blue,
The smell of salt, the feel of sand, and a morning that was new.
Waves were rolling on the shore with just a gentle sound,
Amazed, I watched some dolphins as they surfed and swam around.
Approaching was a lightening storm with bolts and thundering,
The unexpected rumble made me look towards my King.
Amongst the storm His still small voice was strong enough to hear,
I was astounded as He shared His secrets very clear.
With sky of blue and trees of green and fluffy clouds of white,
Flowers, rain and sunshine, the moon and stars of night;
Sunsets, storms and rainbows are all sent from above,
I’m once again startled of the great beauty of your love.
Warmth of sun, the touch of breeze, and the cold of snow,
Extremes of mountains high above and valleys very low;
The magnificence of your creation just points me to your door,
Surprised at your great wisdom, that makes me love you more.
