I don’t know why so many people are anxious about the end. The end is natural. The end must come some day. But ironically no matter how final the end seems; it is really just the beginning.
Personally I am nearing the end of one career and embarking on another. In some ways it is very final; in other ways I know that I will survive. How many times have I looked in the mirror and wondered if this end was really the end? I decided along time ago that I would prepare for this inevitable transition.
As a Christian, I am also prepared for the inevitable transition. It doesn’t mean that I worry about death and forget to live the life that I have. It means that I uphold my end of the compact with Him. It means that together we prepare the way.
The point is that people are afraid of the end, but they shouldn’t be. The end of everything is God, just as he is the beginning.
He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.” –Revelations 21:6 (NIV)
