Maybe a place,
or perhaps a space.
In a heart,
Or beside a hearth.
Games played,
Memories made,
Lessons learned,
Years turned.
Children raised,
A round of days,
History shared,
How well they fared.
Sought by all,
A place to call
Home, not found
A lonely sound.
Those who wander
Often ponder,
“What goes in
Such a thing?”
Deeper than walls
Or vintage halls,
Picture cards
Or albums marred.
Pain and grace
Tied to a place
In your mind.
Never to find,
Only to build;
What is willed
By a longing soul
To be whole
Is home
