Biblical history reveals that the children of Abraham were blessed by God, but through consistent disobedience, idolatry and the deceit of wives like Sarah and Rebecca who concocted lies that shaped destiny with disastrous results. Events produce Ishmael, stolen blessings and birthrights and inter-family hatreds.
The Bible relates inter-tribal and family warfare. Twelve brothers' children became divided, fought each other and in time we see false kings and sons betraying fathers. We also meet God fearing men and women whom God used despite their weaknesses. Examples are David, Deborah, Esther, Samson and Solomon. They were powerful and changed history when they obeyed Him.
Thousands of years have passed.
Humans remain unchanged in their heroism, rebellion and passions. In our own local communities we hear news of bad choices repeatedly producing results that are jaw dropping.
Yet God, except on some rare occasions like in Noah's time and in Sodom and Gomorrah, has not chosen to destroy the earth in anger as He so easily could do. Instead as a good Father, He extends grace and hope.
He continues to work in society through people, through families of parents and children, and extended families. His model of parenthood is unchanging. He is Abba Father.
Just as human fathers in creation protect, provide and have expectations, so does He. He gave many gifts to mankind in the Garden of Eden. One of these gifts was free will. *He plans for an eternity with His family beyond this earth time when all will be different. There will then be peace between humans and creation. Family will be composed of all nations. All God’s children will live in peace. Wars and disease will cease. Death will die forever. The arch enemy that leads man astray will cease from the earth.

"Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away."…

All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, Lord; they will bring glory to your name.
