I am the last inning, so far from beginning,
The final say will always be mine.
I can bring in the cold, with winds that are bold,
Or supply you with sunshine so fine.
I can leave you depressed, or just feeling so blessed,
Each day the choice can be yours.
My influence is great; I supply you with bait,
I tell you that Christmas, is stores.
I bring snow after fall; way up north there’s a call,
Where the days seem to loose their time.
It is dark for a spell, but we say, “It is well,”
Where there’s not even need for a dime.
And down south where it’s hot, you can find the right spot,
Where it’s warm and you call it your place.
Where you bask in the sun and enjoy winter fun,
And end up with a tan on your face.
When your kids are in school, so they won’t be a fool,
Learning English, History, and Math.
Hoping grades will be good, as good kids really should,
To escape from mom and dads wrath.
I’m when people get old and from doctors are told,
That their life may soon come to and end.
When the news isn’t great and the tests were too late,
To provide them a way which to mend.
I’m when time is so short, that I seek out the court,
Where Jesus is bidding me come.
Where the Savior of old, walks on floors made of gold,
And praises ring out with a hum.
I have the last say, at the end of the day,
You choose whether or not to cope.
So make your choice great, before it’s too late,
While there’s still just a “Glimmer of Hope.”
