I have a great big jigsaw
It has one thousand bits.
I've done it many times
And I know where each bit fits.
I got it for my birthday
When I was eight or nine.
As far as presents go
This one was oh so fine.
The picture is so special
An English country town,
A lovely garden border
And sheep all walking down.
Before I start the puzzle
I find a place it fits,
Separate the edges
And turn up all the bits.
Then lovingly I build it
Each piece put in its place,
Joining it together
At a steady pace.
The thrill when it is finished
Is always just the same,
The completion of a mission
More than just a game.
It seems to me that jigsaws
Are metaphors for life,
A puzzle put together
Of joys and dreams and strife.
God is the creator
Who places every bit,
And joins parts of our being
To make each of them fit.
He carefully builds our character
Till His masterpiece is done
And we are put together
His daughter or His son.
I'm sure that He is thrilled
After all His work is through,
And we are as we should be
Redeemed and made anew.

I felt the rhythm was a bit off in a couple of places, but it really didn't detract from the piece as a whole.
I love the analogy here. Great job!
