My spiritual journey in 2004 can be summed up as if I have lived in the following cities; in Ephesus I heard "Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first -love." (Rev 2:4 NIV). In Sardis I was told "I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up! (Rev 3:1,2a NIV). In Laodicea 'self' got in the way so I became lukewarm about serving others and sharing the good news of Jesus. Despite all of this, In Pergamum "Yet you remain true to my name. You did not renounce your faith in me" (Rev 2:13b NIV)
If there is one and only one resolution that I can apply to 2005 that will cover over every aspect of my life; a revival experience that brings me closer to God. Unlike the big tent event, a personal revival is not something to 'put on' but it is life itself. It is like God waking me up from my sleep and bringing the vigor of life through the presence of the Holy Spirit.
To be alive in 2005 can be accomplished by the words of Gamaliel the Pharisee "For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will be not be able to stop these men." (Acts 5:38b, 39a NIV).
