But unfortunately it was happening, and all too real--
Trapped and trembling in the ruins after the disaster,
A child cries "Mommy, Mommy!" longing to reach for her--
Muffled sounds of emergency sirens echo all around;
Aftershocks fully fuel fear to all on the ground
'Good Samaritans' and emergency workers go the extra mile
As they search every room and comb through every pile--
They hear the child crying but cannot get to her right then,
As she cries "Mommy, Mommy!" again, and again
Dust and debris everywhere make it hard to breathe,
It's still night time there, and it's hard to see...
Halfway around the world, a saint could not sleep:
He had no idea what was happening as he began to weep--
So he prayed and travailed, in Jesus' Name:
God still works in His mysterious ways,
And the little girl is miraculously saved!
