It has been a very long time since I wrote a poem or a story. As a child and through my teen years I yearned to write, and so I wrote in spite of difficult circumstances. My stories and poems where dark, reflecting my utter despair.
Why is it that now, since I have left my life of abandonment and entered into Your kingdom, I am without words for my page?
There have been lies drifting into my thoughts, attempting to strangle the Truth that You gifted to me so freely those years ago. There is scheming afoot.
Oh how vulnerable I have been! Can a warrior charge the enemy with only a helmet for cover and offense? Neither can I!
My God, suit me up for the battle at hand which affects my mind and my life! I reject the lies and pronounce Your Truth! I am a child of God! I am a saint! I am one that You chose and accepted!
I will use the gifts you have given to me; I will be merciful, and I will write in freedom and love. Give me Your courage please.

Regarding the line: "I wrote in spite of difficult circumstances", I think many us us learned to write because of difficult circumstances, and then no longer feel the "need" to write once we are safe and saved. You do a great job of discribing this feeling in your question about being without words.
Great job and great imagery.
