Previous Challenge Entry (Level 1 – Beginner)
Topic: Spring (as in the season) (11/28/05)
Every spring, the German women of the small village of Watzenborn-Steinburg would put pretty flowers outside their windows in a box. Watzenborn-Steinborn was near the Army base where my husband was stationed in ten years ago. We lived in an apartment and I would ride the bus into the nearby town of Giessen to shop. They had many places to buy these flowers and I got some to put on our porch. While living in Germany, I also wanted to take a special trip to Holland to see the tulip gardens. I had a birthday in April, so my husband and I took a trip there on a bus tour. It was very crowded with other tourists. It looked beautiful with all the brilliant assortment of colors. There was a windmill there and we took our photo. Now that I am in the States, I also buy pretty plants for the spring. I tried planting tulips in the fall for the next spring, but when they appear for a few moments, the rabbits will eat them.

Consider writing a longer version of this, describing your time in Germany, and how it felt to live there.

Your last sentence is very abrupt; consider leaving it off, or even writing a piece about your battle with the rabbits. That might be really cute!
