Previous Challenge Entry (Level 1 – Beginner)
Topic: Bon Voyage (09/05/05)
He barely got the words out of his mouth and I knew it was hard. He had to leave even though his stay we knew would not be permanent. He said bon bon-bongi..with his little voice cracking, but I knew the words he tried to say.

You see he came to us as a little baby he could not talk or say he missed his mommy, but we knew and we showered him with all the love two people could give.
He grew into a strong little fellow and his little words grew.

We would play the game of him leaving through the years, so the pain of saying good bye would not be so hard.
We used the words Bon Voyage..and no matter how he tried to say it, it never came out just right.

Bon- Bongi, Bon-Bongi, Bon-Bongi.. we would pretend to get on a boat or a plane, it was up to him that day, which way we would seperate and say good bye.

But when the final day came, it seemed to be as painful as if we never played that game over a hundered times.
He was a foster child, his mom could not keep him and we took him in to love and care for until a permenant
home came along.

As Foster Parents, we should not get so attached. But how can you not love the warmth and smiles of a child, even
when they are not your own. They are a special blessing from God even for a short few years.

Bon-bongi, bon-bongi...I can still hear him say those words with a crack in his voice. But without a tear, we again pretended to play that game, once again.
I replied with my voice cracking with tears, Bon bongi, bon voyage little one.
