When an aborted baby fails to see the light.
When the lack of compassion for human life,
Will then leave a woman with a life of strife.
For it comes down to money and a certain lifestyle,
Not to be inconvenienced by this little child’s smile.
To make this child pay for her mistake,
Without Christ’s forgiveness, hell would be the wake.
It is also the color of a growing debt,
When one puts one’s money on an unsure bet.
For the lack of wisdom in financial things,
The color of red in your checkbook rings.
For all will give account for the way we spend,
Where our money goes and to whom we rend.
Did the thought of God come into play?
When we get our paycheck at the end of day?
It’s the color of the blood that was shed for man,
For all who will take hold of Jesus’ hand.
Who will submit to Him their heart and will,
For it’s only through Him that we can get our fill.
There is no other color that will give us hope,
For it’s not through church, or even the Pope.
It’s only through the blood of the crucified Christ.
And any other way would be a mere heist.
It’s just a crying shame that this world we’re in,
Has such a love of money, which God called sin.
It turns a mans heart to the blackening of greed,
Then so easy we forget about another man's need.
Now you’ve heard my side, what will you say?
Have you ever let some money get into your way?
When the needs before you, do you step up to the plate?
For we all will give account at the Heavenly gate.

You've made a good point here! It's all about money...blood money. You're so right also that we all have to answer someday for our actions or lack thereof.
Nicely written. Blessings!
There's a poetry thread currently running in the Message Boards which explores one kind of poetry each week. We'd love to have your input! Look for it under the title "Jan's Master Class".
