It amazes me how God speaks to the spirit of man-drawing us each to Him-the same for some. I saw your title and couldn't believe it! I had titled my piece 'The Secret Place of Thunder'. A like spirit perhaps? Could this be the same Thunder? Yep-talk about the living waters! You so nailed it!!!

Awesome entry! I hoped that someone would use Moses! Very well done!!!!!!
WOW!!! i love it! You made me want to go there. How very true! Great entry! Great job using the story of Moses meeting with God on Mount Sinai.
Blessings,
Rose
Yes, I've had to plow through rocks too--you've captured the most difficult and the most sublime aspects of retreat!
Wow, awesome story! Wonderful idea for the topic. In my opinion you should be in the advanced level, not in beginner. :-) God bless.
The title grabbed my attention and the story took me straight to God! Beautiful entry!

Very well written - and ironically I'm hearing thunder rumbling as I read this! off goes the pc....
Such a great job using this Biblical story! Loved this line: "Then,... finally, ceasing from my own efforts and emptied of myself, I enter into the solitude of silence, as I draw near to Him. There, only His Voice I hear."
I was a judge for Retreat and I wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your entry and rated it well. Great message, some lovely images. Watch your punctuation, I noted some irregularities on my tally sheet. Things like ",..." Don't worry, little stuff doesn't knock off major points, but it helps to have it tight! Keep writing, you are very talented. :)

I like the contrast between 'drawn out' and 'drawn in'.

So - why do we find it so hard to retreat into that secret place of thunder?

Great writing - thanks!
