Spiritually we know that the two forces are in constant conflict, both in our world system and within each of us. (Ephesians 6:10-18/Romans 7:15-25) We can rest assured that though the battle continues, the victory by Jesus has already been won! (1 John 4:4)
In recent years it has been revealed to us that individually, each of us plays host to another conflict, though we never witness it with our eyes. Good and bad cholesterol are out to win the world championship! Wow, is that confusing! First, we are introduced to all the havoc cholesterol plays in our arteries and that is contained in all the foods we love. Then we are thrown completely off balance with news that all cholesterol isn’t bad. Does it wear the white hat?
It is like every meal puts us up on the high wire, with no safety net bellow to catch us! How can we distinguish which foods increase good cholesterol or boost the bad? We know heredity plays a part; and we can not change our family tree. Maybe modern medicine has given us too much knowledge for our simple understanding…
I’ve heard of a few good foods we should keep in our diet, to aid us in the cholesterol battle. Oatmeal, beans, and carrots are real super heroes. The two leading the pack on that list in some way wrap around bad cholesterol and take it out of our system! Another fighter in the ring is cinnamon, which battles cholesterol and helps maintain proper blood sugar levels.
Our research must include the almost magic ingredient, exercise! Bad cholesterol can not resist the control of aerobic exercise; and our good cholesterol gets a booster shot!
About five months ago I had some blood work done and saw amazing results from my exercise routine and a diet fairly low in fats. My husband is a vegetarian; so I do not eat a great deal of meat. The nurse practitioner could not believe the lab results; the HDL, my good cholesterol reading number was 99. She had never seen such a high reading before! I asked if there might be a mistake; and she said no, that from all the other readings she could tell it was correct. She planned to take my results to show the doctors!
I believe there is good and bad in almost every thing. Guess what, chocolate is high in magnesium; and that is good for us! Life is not so bad!

I'm not sure the verse fit where you had it. It may have fit better at the end as a footnote.
This is a great idea, as I mentioned earlier. I've love to see this rewritten from the point of view of one of the "super heroes." Captain Chocolate, perhaps. :)
