I started to read the paper today
I could hardly believe what it said

"There's riots and lootings
with drive by shootings
29 people are dead"

My face made a frown
I threw the paper down
to watch T.V. for awhile,

"We interrupt this program from the Miracle Mile,
behind Farmer's Market was an abandon child;
left in dirty diapers, no food at all,
if you recognize this baby, please give us a call."

I walked downtown to take a stroll
to calm myself and to get control.

Deciding to go to the picture show
for something good to see,

Arriving there, I stopped to stare
at the title on the marquee

"Drug abuse and Prostitutes"
"Chain Saw Killer Wore A Business Suit"

I thought to myself..it's such a tragedy
just death and destruction is all I see.

Whatever happened to joy, love and peace
why did it stop, what made it cease?

Back to the quiet of my little home
I sat down to ponder these questions alone.

I couldn't find the answers in the paper or T.V.
so I picked up the Bible and slowly started to read

I was simply amazed at what I read
for these are the words the Bible said,

"There's nothing in this world that man hasn't done
He's broken all my laws, each and every one.

I know about the riots and all of the lootings,
the senseless murders and the drive by shootings.

Man has written laws with such evil contortions,
the nation now practices the acts of abortion;

And other such wickedness that's going on today
schools teaching children it's O.K. to be gay.

The nation has denied My Word given to them,
they say there's no God, therefore no sin.

Man lusts for power to do what he pleases
and that's why the land is filled with diseases.

But if man will repent and do what I say
and humble himself and seek me each day,

Then I'll heal their land and bring peace back again
the very moment they obey, I will forgive their sin.

This is my answer, now what will you do,
the decision is yours, it's all up to YOU."
