The contest on the UK which I missed made me very determined to never miss another entry! I need to explain though, I did make an entry. Well, when I got the UK researched and ready to enter, the contest was on South America, but the UK had some very good hints on how to obtain a title, or a Family Crest. I had to enter it! This country could use a few ‘How to Do’ articles. Don’t you agree?
Now only do we need informative articles, there should be a ‘Poor Lucille Ball’ to lighten the load of ever day burdens. Now that’s where I come in. I hate to be brass, I not only share a fifth great-grandmother with Lucy; I believe I am her clone.
It is weird, for years I have made the comment that I am just a ‘Poor Lucille Ball’ and then find I am directly across from her on my genealogy chart! Her life appears to be funny when watched on TV, when it happens in real life; it’s not funny.
On thing I can say, I have kept my family laughing over the years. I am full of schemes and bright ideas. But as with Lucy, nothing pans out. Yet! Given time and chance; I will manage to accomplish my biggest flop, I am determined!
Oh dear, how many words do I have left? I can’t recall what the word limit is. Whew! I have plenty words left. Do you realize I haven’t gotten to the subject yet? India, what do I know about India?
Luckily, I don’t have to give a great deal of thought to that, as I know a Missionary who is from India, and I gave him financial assistance, his name is Paul. No one needs to think I wrote about Paul to influence the editors. Can editors be bought? I don’t think so!
A memory from childhood comes to mind. It is happy, but also; it carries some discomfort. I may have been eight or nine years old. My mother had bought me a book, as was her habit; it was a story about two young girls, who were bosom buddies.
Their names were Pam and Joy. I loved the names, and wanted to name my girls those names. In fact, I do have a daughter named Pam. But, I digress. Pam and Joy had many adventures together. The story revolved around Pam, her mother and her father, I never met Joy’s family. Now, I’m wondering why?
Joy traveled with Pam and her family to Rome, Italy. Well, I was thinking they went to India when I started this story. How in the world do I get them to India? I don’t have enough words left. I haven’t had a chance to tell what happened to them in Rome. Give me time, I will think of a way.
While I’m thinking of a way to get them to India, let me mention what happened to Pam and Joy. There was a big fire in Rome, no it wasn’t when Negro fiddled, because the girls were dressed like Shirley Temple, in the darling short dresses.
Well after the big blaze they came upon a little Italian about their age. Six to eight years of age. His name was Tony and apparently was an orphan. Since he was homeless he was allowed to stay with the family while it was decided what to do with him.
Now you must understand this occurred over seventy years ago and I can’t recall how it ended, but I remember Tony didn’t follow the rules, or did something to displease Father; Tony was a street boy and no doubt had bunches of bad habits. However, Father had to take action.
He told his daughter, he was going to discipline Tony. To this day, I remember how I was filled with dread. I had no idea what discipline meant, but I knew it was something bad!
I had a feeling it was similar to ‘You’re going to get the razor strap.’ Now younger people may never know that feeling, are they lucky, nor do they even know what a razor strap is; again they are lucky. Oh dear, I must leave!
Sorry to hurry off, but I need to pick up tickets to send Pam and Joy to India! In fact I’m going to get tickets so Tony and I can go. I need to ask him how he was disciplined!
