Topic: Write in the ADVENTURE genre (05/24/07)
It had been a long day. Like usual I had spent most of my day anxious and worried, I laid my head down to sleep, once more praying that the Lord would teach me to trust Him. I soon felt someone gently urging me to wake up. I opened my eyes to see Jesus standing at my bed side. He told me to get out of bed and follow Him. “Where are we going Lord?” “We’re going on a little adventure?” He said.
As we walked out the front door, I was aware of a beautiful day, the sun shining brightly, a gentle breeze and a perfect peace. Standing there with my Lord I never felt so loved. We were standing in what appeared to be a small airport. Jesus then walked up to a small plane, opened the door and invited me to step into the passenger side. Having no fear I jumped in. Jesus got into the pilots seat, and handed me a pair of headphones, so we would be able to communicate with each other while flying. He told me that we were going on a little trip because He had something special to show me. He explained to me that He would allow me to help with the radio, and handed me a book on navigating, but I was not to ever use the right seat yoke or foot controls. He would be the pilot; there was no need for a co-pilot. Jesus assured me, God the Father would be holding the plane in His hand.
We began our flight. I had never felt so safe. Jesus and I talked, taking in the beauty around us. We traveled on, enjoying our beautiful fellowship, as I looked around I saw another plane heading in our direction. I pointed it out to Jesus, He assured me there was nothing to be concern about, and continued on. The other plane drawing closer all the time. The lord seeing my anxiety told me to open the navigational guide. It read: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Phil.4:6, 7 NKJV) The other plane passed somewhere below us. Thank you Lord.
I soon began to feel drowsy and promptly fell asleep. Waking up from my nap, I realized the pilot’s seat was empty! “Lord where are you?” I began to panic. “Please help Lord I’m so scared” Questions in wild succession, ran through my mind, what would I do? Why would Jesus leave me? Had I did or said something wrong? Meanwhile the plane continued to fly at a level and steady speed. I began calling on the radio asking if there was anyone out there that could help me. No answer, just static. I looked at the yoke in front of me, I wondered if I should take hold of it. I picked up the navigation guide and began reading. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not until thy own understanding;” (Proverbs 3:5a,b NKJV) I could see a mountain range ahead, my feelings of panic returned, I grabbed the yoke, if the plane got too close to the mountain, I would have to make a turn. What else could I do? As carefully as I could I turned the yoke making a half turn. Hopefully nothing was in front of me now; but my feared only increased, another mountain loomed ahead; I turned again now heading back from where I came. How in the world would I land this plane? I tried the radio again, calling out to the ground for assistance, just garble. On my left I spotted a plane headed my way, then there was another one straight out, and I could see a dark cloud behind that! “Jesus help me! Please Jesus! The navigation book lay open on the pilot’s seat, the words almost leaped from the page “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’(Is.41:10 NKJV) I looked out the window and below, I could see that the plane was resting on a colossal hand. Tears began to stream down my face, as I realized I was safe. I knew then that Jesus had never left the pilot’s seat.

This story is very true of our daily tests of faith. Just trusting in Him always. Good story.

Very good allegory.

A little more attention to paragraphing and punctuation--a quick edit--will increase your readership.

Keep writing; this shows enormous promise!

What a great word picture! It really was a great illustration of how we should trust in God even when we can't see the big picture. Be careful of run-on and fragment sentences.
