TITLE: MY BELOVED | Previous Challenge Entry

The day slowly faded to a dull pallor gray
Her misery filled eyes blended with the sullen day.
The steps that were taken held no purpose or direction
Her head sadly drooped as she paused in reflection.
The sorrow she carried filled her heart with grief
She thought of the one who could grant her relief.
The tears slowly ran from her sad, pain filled eyes
She had left her best friend and had said her goodbyes.
The path that was traveled brought her farther away
The choices she made, dangerously led her astray.
Thoughts of her loved one grew seldom and few
She willingly turned from the love she once knew.
But now she was lonely, remembering what had once been
The road that she followed was discolored with sin.
What was she thinking? Could she be such a fool?
The life that she lived was so awful and cruel.
She was tired of fighting and trying to fit in,
Her sorrow and misery pulled her down in a spin.
And as she sat hopeless in her dark, lonely place
Sweet memories were drawn to her dear beloved’s face.
She remembered the joy that His presence had brought
And how He pursued her and lovingly sought.
She recalled His sweet words and the love in those eyes
As He proclaimed of a love He was willing to die.
She sat worn and weeping in her shadow filled valley,
when suddenly she heard His voice calling her gently.
She then felt a presence that was filled with great love
A passion felt only from her one true Beloved.
Was He searching for her? Sweetly calling her name?
Could the love that He promised her always remain?
Was she really that precious? Did she really have worth?
Could she really be loved so completely since birth?
As she turned around slowly, He walked quickly towards her
With His arms opened wide, now His love she was sure.
It was then that she knew the very depths of His heart
And how she had claim to a deep, special part.
It was here in His arms where she truly belonged
He quickly forgave her of all that was wronged.
She felt such completeness, the day then turned bright
The joy she experienced gave way to great light.
True love she had found in her life once again
She had allowed Jesus to have complete reign.
The greatest love story is the one told above,
of Jesus passionately searching to fulfill His deep love.
The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing."
