Although it's too late to change the things that happen in our lives, it's never too late for Jesus to change our lives. Thanks for the reminder.
Good job! I like the double-mystery - she realized how important the light was in the kitchen AND in Jesus. Keep writing, this was really good!

You have a very well done story, here, worthy of the competition at higher levels. I couldn't spot a single flaw.

I relish your opening paragraph, using such an appropriate analogy for her waking from sleep.

The only change I would suggest is to put the scripture references in a footnote. They can be distracting in the midst of a story.
