I share, my friend, this precious invitation,
Inscribed on vellum with the purest gold.
It hails from the King of all creation,
Who promises His wonders yet untold.
A ticket is required for admission,
The price already paid for by His Son,
Who gave himself completely in submission
In death, but resurrection vict'ry won.
From birth, we all hold tickets to destruction,
Because of Eve's and Adam's garden fall,
But precious promises and wise instruction
Are both included with the Savior's call.
As our Creator, God is the sole expert
On what behaviors mesh with His design.
As Savior, Jesus works in perfect concert
To mold our will, and holiness refine.
God gives His Spirit to assist us praying
Completely in alignment with God's will,
Conforming us so we will be displaying
The image of our Savior, beautiful.
Our ticket must not be one counterfeited
And given out by others than God's son.
We cannot choose what is or not permitted,
Or satisfy our flesh because it's fun.
God's Word holds all authority for those who
Accept the ticket bought with Jesus' blood,
But also is the standard He will hold to
When judging those who spurn His grace so good.
