Within our world do rage,
As absence of morality
Brings evil to the age.
The sorrows that are caused by sin,
With bad news unabated,
When Satan brings his force from hell,
Where sin originated.
Diseases found of many kinds
Which seem to have no cure,
Addictions that destroy the lives
That struggle to endure.
The disregard for sacred things,
God’s name that’s used in vain,
Denials that the Savior came
Or that He’ll come again.
Abuses of the innocent,
Mistreatment of the poor,
The violence in city streets,
And wars forevermore.
The disagreements that abound,
Political ferment,
When fires stoked by angry words
Cause hatred and dissent.
BUT . . . GOD IS!
The only hope for hopeless world
Is spiritual revival,
And coming in obedience
To laws within the Bible.
With joy can we anticipate
The future that unfolds
Of time eternally with God
And all that heaven holds.
