When I was seeking satisfaction down every wrong road; blind and desperate, you were my parents who loved me and prayed for me and never gave up hope for me.
When I was enveloped in darkness; lonely, selfish and undeserving, you were the friend who reached out and grabbed my hand and loved on me.
When there was nothing to love about me; purposeless and lifeless, you were the pastor who told me I was lovingly created by God to know him, to glorify him and to fulfill the plans he has for me.
When I was wandering aimlessly; hopeless and afraid, you were the singer that reached down into my innermost being and conveyed the message that I had a future.
When I was utterly destitute; bankrupt and exhausted, you were the church that intervened and treated me with compassion.
When I was offensive; sick with sin; guilty, you were the partner who forgave me.
When I realized I could not rescue myself; wrecked and stranded, you miraculously delivered me.
When I looked up, I saw Jesus, hanging on a tree; blood shed for me…
Suddenly, and all at once, like a cool, comforting breeze and a powerful clap of thunder all at the same time, I was cleansed and overwhelmed by the love of God. It was like all the pieces of the puzzle cascaded into place and the beautiful grace of God washed over me and invaded my heart.
…You were the Father who adopted me into your family.
You are my advocate, you are my light, you are the truth, you are my hope, you are my provider, you are my healer, you are my redeemer, you are my Father.
I am loved.
