FaithWriters.com news and information for the write-brained Christian!
"The angel said to the women, 'Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you.'" – Matthew 28: 5-8 (NIV)
Can you think of anything more exciting than learning that someone you love, and thought had died, has risen from the dead? I can't even imagine how Mary Magdalene and the other Mary felt at this news from the angel. Of course, as this passage tells us, they were filled with delight! The sadness and grief were suddenly gone, replaced with immense joy!
That same joy should be in our hearts when we remember our Lord is not dead, but alive and well, sitting at the Father's right hand, interceding for us…cheering us on… until that day when we see Him again. Is there anything more exciting than that?
The two Mary's were at the tomb, looking for Jesus on that first Easter morning. Be sure to read the Out of the Mouths of FaithWriters section at the end of this newsletter to see how some of our members will be celebrating Easter this year.
SOMETHING OLD AND LOTS OF NEW!
You may have noticed a few new additions to the FaithWriters site. New owners, Mike and Bea Edwards, are doing everything they can to make FaithWriters the best it can be…which ultimately means more perks for you! The "Old" as mentioned in this heading is not in reference to the people who make up the members! (Although, you may meet some very seasoned writers!) The "Old" is that the heart of FaithWriters has always been and will always be to help you develop, hone, and use your gifts and talents for God's glory, and to provide the tools and resources you need to do it.
But now for the "New" (and exciting) stuff…
INTERVIEW WITH BEST-SELLING AUTHOR PHILIP YANCEY!

Mike and Bea have been working hard to acquire interviews with well-known Christian writers who can offer insight, advice, and encouragement that will motivate you in your personal writing journey. FAITHWRITERS ONLINE MAGAZINE
You may remember that from 2004 to 2008, we had an online magazine that provided lots of great articles and showcased many of our members. Well, it has been decided to resurrect the magazine! The official re-launch will be in January, 2013. This will open up various opportunities for you, so stay tuned!
In the meantime, why not browse the archives of the magazine? You'll find hidden gems and perhaps see some names you recognize. http://www.faithwritersmagazine.com/
The next quarter of the Weekly Writing Challenge begins on April 5. And now there are two more reasons to upgrade your account and enter! (As if you need any more).
- Currently, the Weekly Writing Challenge is divided into four quarters per year, each with a residing "theme." But some members have expressed their desire for non-themed quarters, to break things up and add a little intrigue. So, starting right now, the 2nd and 4th quarters will consist of non-themed topics. Plus, the Editor's Choice winning entries for each topic will be featured in the FaithWriters Online Magazine! The 1st and 3rd quarters will remain themed, and winners will be published in a future FaithWriters book.
- Starting with the first topic of the new quarter, the first place Editor's Choice winner each week will receive $20 cash! Is that awesome, or what? What a wonderful reward for a job well done!

OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF FAITHWRITERS
In the March newsletter, members were asked to provide their answer to the following question:
HOW WILL YOU BE CELEBRATING EASTER THIS YEAR?
Here are a few of the responses:
"After a worship service, "whosoever will" comes to my home for ham and turkey and all the trimmings - usually 30 to 40 people. We follow dinner with an egg hunt, with 200 eggs for all the children!" - Michele Smither
"Losing your only child to a murder on Easter is hard to bear, especially when Easter falls on the anniversary date of the murder. So this year I will remember a slain son, with the remembrance of a risen son..." - Ms. Candace L Jordan
"On Good Friday I will go to church to remember that Jesus Christ went to the cross for my sin. On Easter Sunday I will go to church again with God's people to rejoice that Jesus rose from the dead, conquered sin, and death, so I and all believers can reign forever with Him." - Dorothy Moffitt
"I'll be worshipping in a couple of local Protestant churches and writing up a holy storm." – Ian Dennison
"It is sad to admit, but my favorite part is after we finish finding the Easter eggs, we have a war. Be careful... Easter eggs hurt." – Elizabeth Axley
"For starters, I'll attend "Son rise" service, then come home for a huge Sunday lunch with family. Then we'll read the "real" Easter Story, so the kids will understand why we celebrate, then hide eggs. There is no Easter bunny at my home." – Sarah Catoe
In honor of Mother's Day next month, I'm posing a fun and creative question:
SUM UP YOUR MOTHER in 7 words (or step-mother or something who is "like a mother" to you)
Email your 1-2 sentence response to [email protected]. Then check the May newsletter to see if your answer was selected to appear!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT AND PRAYERS! JOIN US IN CELEBRATING OUR RISEN SAVIOR!
P.S. Check out the new Jesus Page on FaithWriters:
