FaithWriters.com news and information for the write-brained Christian!
"She quilts her own bedspreads…she makes belted linen garments and sashes to sell to merchants…she watches for bargains…she finds wool and flax and busily spins it…she extends a helping hand to the poor…" taken from Proverbs 31
Moms are probably the busiest people on the planet. God has given women the amazing ability to extend themselves in various directions at one time. For women – mom's especially - multi-tasking is a definite understatement! As you can see from the verse above, the Proverbs 31 Woman had many talents and commendable attributes. And chances are your mother does, too. At the end of this newsletter, read about the strengths and talents of the mothers of some of our own FaithWriters members.
In the next month, FaithWriters will be changing the way we send out announcements, newsletters and general correspondence. We will be working with a company called, GetResponse. Keep an eye out for an email sometime in the next few weeks with instructions on how to RE-SUBSCRIBE to the email list. If you would like to continue receiving notices and newsletters from FaithWriters, please be sure to confirm your subscription.

OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF FAITHWRITERS:
This month, fellow FaithWriters were asked to name a talent their mother possesses, or possessed, that they admire or wish they had themselves. Here are a few responses:
"Of all the things I could list about Mom, the most impressive to me is that, after nearly 52 years of marriage, she's still crazy about Dad. Even now that Dad is on hospice, she still gives selflessly in taking care of him." – Rick Higginson
"Before Dementia set in, my mum could tell you the name of any plant, tree, shrub or flower. She could also tell you when and where to grow them, and when to prune them, as well as what color flowers a tree, plant or shrub would have...all without reading the little nursery tag." – Chrissy Siggee
"My mom was often the one person everyone turned to for prayer. At her funeral I heard over and over again, "Who will pray for us now?" What greater legacy could a mother leave than the legacy of prayer?" – Rita Garcia
"My mom has been gone longer then I had her, but her truest love--her passion--was her music. She could 'play the sunset' with her sax as if it were an extension of her entire being. Or, she could inspire 100 elderly people to do the 'Chicken Dance'. She always joked that we should spread her ashes on the dance floor of Gravois Farmer's Club, where she played every Saturday night." – Michelle Roach
"My mother is always available. She's NEVER missed a recital, concert, play, game or science fair for her children (and now her grandchildren.) And whether we did well or not, she made sure we felt like the winner." – Glynis Becker
This May, be sure to hug your mom and tell her how special she is. And if your mother is no longer with you, treasure the memories and thank God for the time you had together. If you're a mother yourself, go hug your kids and tell them how blessed you are to be their mom.
Thanks for being a part of FaithWriters.com. Keep writing for the Kingdom!
