FaithWriters.com news and information for the Write-brained Christian!
"I am fully convinced, dear brothers and sisters, that you are full of goodness. You know these things so well that you are able to teach others all about them." – Romans 15:14
The above verse could be written specifically to you, a FaithWriters member. Honestly, I believe there is not a website out there with more genuine, kind-hearted, spirit-filled people than there are at FaithWriters.com. Each of you is so special, so unique, and so willing to share encouragement, support and hope with your fellow writers and friends. The spirit you bring is nothing short of amazing.
What a joy, then, to have had the opportunity to meet you face to face at the FAITHWRITERS CONFERENCE! To be able to personally thank you for being a part of this wonderful community and for your generous support of FaithWriters was a privilege and a blessing.
The conference was a HUGE SUCCESS! The speakers were magnificent; the information and teaching were practical, helpful, encouraging and even entertaining. And the fellowship? Well, that was priceless. It was so touching (and fun!) to watch as the connections, bonds and friendships that have been forming online for years were taken to deeper levels. Levels that are sure to last a lifetime.
Thanks to the many who volunteered at the conference! And a special thanks to Amy Wiley. This conference would not have happened if Amy hadn't stepped in, taken the reins, and made it happen. But so many others also helped to make this inaugural conference even better than we had hoped for. So… THANK YOU!
Couldn't make it this year? We missed you! If you want to find out just what went on, the message boards are buzzing with activity and excitement. Relive this special event through the members who were there. They'd love to share all the juicy details… http://www.faithwriters.com/Boards/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=49
The buck does NOT STOP HERE! We are thrilled to announce that plans for the SECOND FaithWriters' conference are already underway. The location will soon be revealed. Keep watching for details...
Australian Deb Porter will be visiting Washington State immediately following the conference and we are inviting all the Northwestern FaithWriters and their families to a picnic on Thursday, August 16th! We will provide sub sandwiches for everyone, so just bring your own drinks and a side dish to share (chips, salad, fruit, dessert, etc).
The meal will start at 6:00 PM, but feel free to come any time after 5:00 PM. We're meeting at Hazel Dell Park, 2300 NE 68th St., Vancouver, WA 98665
Please RSVP to Amy Wiley at [email protected].

DONATING TO FAITHWRITERS:
Several of you have asked if you could simply make a donation to FaithWriters instead of signing up to become a 500 member. The answer to this is, OF COURSE! We are eternally grateful for any financial support you can offer that enables FaithWriters to maintain the spirit of excellence it strives for, as well as add new features that continue to help our members grow in their gifts and talents.

FROM THE MOUTHS OF FAITHWRITERS
This month's question:
Besides the FaithWriters conference (if you'll be attending), what is the most exciting thing you've done or are planning to do this summer?
"Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the FW conference. But the most exciting thing I've done this summer is to watch and pray with THREE members of my church youth group as they accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. NOTHING better than that!" Claudette Wood, FaithWriters member and aspiring author
"The most exciting thing I've done this summer was go to Las Vegas with my husband for an early anniversary trip. Though it was hotter than melted butter, we had a good time." – Karri Compton, wife, mother and book reviewer
"Nothing exciting like a cruise or a family reunion - but I am combining the "Best of my Poems and Shorts" in a Magazine Format (complete with cartoon characters and picturesque illustrations), for my daughter's birthday in August - to surprise her! She has never read any of my writings as she lives out of state...and is computer-less. I hope she finds entertainment, enlightenment and encouragement, with perhaps a sprinkling of peace, faith and wisdom somewhere within those pages." – Marilyn Schnepp, published writer, poet, and essayist
So that wraps up the August edition of the FaithWriters newsletter. Again…thank you for the warm and Christian spirit you bring to FaithWriters and for your continued support and prayer for our ministry. Keep writing for the kingdom!
Looking forward to seeing you at the conference!
