C. M. T. Stibbe, originally from Britain, now lives in New Mexico. The author spent some years in Hong Kong working for a marine consultancy firm and traveled the Far East. Having latterly worked in London and the United States, Stibbe decided the rigors of full-time employment stifled a passion to write. The author has an interest in archaeology and visited Egypt whilst on a school trip in 1982. When not writing, Stibbe is an avid reader of Egyptian archaeology and classical history, which ultimately set the groundwork for this first novel. The author’s adoptive father, P. G. Stibbe, wrote Return Via Rangoon, an account as a young Chindit of his imprisonment by the Japanese in WWII. He instilled in the author the importance of reading literature from a young age, and he was a friend of C. S. Lewis (The Chronicles of Narnia). The author’s twin brother, Mark Stibbe, has written many books including From Orphans to Heirs, a book on spiritual adoption.
