Some call her; the dark continent
It is a land of wonderful stories
Reminisce of a history of slavery
Colonalisation and Aparthied
Surrounded by myths and legends
Yet she is Black beautiful and Bold
The tears of her children linger
Once colonised by the Masters
For pieces of gold and silver
Brought from across the oceans
All the way from the Nile to Niger
Her children were exchanged for presents
She was raped and robbed of her culture
The very substance that made her, Africa
No more will the children gather
To listen to the folktales by Nana
At night under the moonlight
w hile in groups the women chatter
The beatings of the talking drums
spoke of a silver linning in the sky and HIM
Some call HIM Bayete Nkosi
Others Call HIM Oluwa, Eledumare
He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords
He has come to set her free.
She was told the story of HIM
Who for the love of her, died
No more mama, weep no more
With open arms, she received him
As her saviour and her beloved
No more mama, weep no more
