Like many guys, I love to watch giant explosions in movies or far away, as long as they don't hurt anyone. Somehow I thought of this unusual way to look at God. (This time I wanted to try something new and make a poem without ryhymes, but I'm having trouble with that as you'll probably notice. Any help is very appreciated!) I was going to call this "Exblowsionz" but decided to go with something more unusual. I hope that the website with the Greek translator was right about the words. ^_^
Power unrestrained and uncontained
Energy released from a chemical reaction
Orange fire blasts out and lights up the sky
For just a moment it lasts but can cause great destruction

God's power, like explosions, can be compared
His limitless strength can destroy everything in sight
Nothing is strong enough to defeat it or survive
Evil must cower and run from Him

His dynamite rips great mountains apart
His bombs knock down enemies' stone walls
His burning fire consumes sin and the devil together
His pounding force can shatter stony hearts

What a sight it is to see, when His power is unleashed
Like an explosion, it's frightening and awesome the same
We can't control Him and should never try
Let Him do His work through you and stand back

God's blinding light knocked Paul to the ground
The apostles were filled with the Spirit in a rushing wind
Prideful Egypt, full of idols, recieved 10 devastating blows
A thick curtain Jesus ripped open in an earthquake, hallelujah!

Like fireworks His power captivates us
Like explosions in pistons or rockets His Holy Spirit moves us
Like dynamite He mines the rocks from our hearts
And opens up passages when we are trapped underground

Fear Him, you people, and don't mock His name
Watch Him blast all idols to pieces into great piles of rubble
See how the people want to run and hide when He judges all
Remember His wonderful works in the past and present

Love Him, you people, like the strong merciful Father that He is
Watch Him swiftly destroy your enemies and lift you to your feet
Listen to His sweet promises and words of correction
Remember that nothing is too difficult for Him

Like a small child we are beside our mighty Father
Weak and confused and afraid and helpless
He holds us close to His side, runs to our help just in time
Love and power, full and perfect, there is no god like Him

There is power, power, wonder working power
In the blood of the lamb
There is power, power, wondering working power
In the precious blood of the lamb

Random fact: I have thought about writing two of the following songs but for one reason or another gave up, lost interest, or didn't know how to finish. One was "Beautiful to Me" about how God sees all girls as beautiful no matter how they look, and the second was "A Will and a Way" about the will of God and how simple it is. I may finish these some day if it interests me.
